1. Copy and Paste Multiple Adjacent Cells
1.1 Using Keyboard Shortcut
Step 1: Select the adjacent cells you want to copy and use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C to copy.
Step 2: Select any cell where you want to paste the copied cells and use CTRL+V shortcut to paste.
1.2 Using Right Click
Step 1: Select the cells for copying and right click on your mouse. Click on Copy.
Step 2: Right click on the cell you want to paste the copied cells and select Paste(P).
Step 3: The multiple selected cells are copied and pasted.
1.3 Mouse Shortcut
Step 1: Select the cells. Hold CTRL key and take your mouse cursor at the right edge of the selection and you will notice your cursor icon changed into a (+) icon.
Step 2: Click and hold the left button on your mouse and drag it to a cell where you want to paste the selection. Now leave the mouse and the selected cells will be copied and pasted there.
1.4 Using Fill Handle
Step 1: Make selection of your desired adjacent cells you want to copy and take the mouse cursor at the bottom right corner of your selection.
Step 2: The cursor will change into (+) icon. Now click and drag it downwards or to any direction where there are blank cells to copy and paste the selection of these multiple cells.
2. Copy and Paste Multiple Non-Adjacent Cells
If you select multiple cells that are non-adjacent to each other and try to copy them using any of the methods above, this dialogue box will pop up on your screen saying “This action won’t work on multiple selections”. There is no method of techniques for copying multiple non-adjacent cells from different rows and columns. However, you can copy multiple non-adjacent cells if they are located in same row or in same column.
2.1 Copy and Paste Multiple Non-Adjacent Cells that are in the same row/column
Same Row
Step 1: Hold CTRL key and select multiple non-adjacent cells which are in same row. Use CTRL+C to copy these cells.
Step 2: Select a cell where you want to paste and click CTRL+V.
Same Column
Step 1: Hold CTRL and select non-adjacent cells from a column. Use CTRL+C to copy and CTRL+V to paste them anywhere.
2.2 Copy and Paste Multiple Non-Adjacent Rows/Columns (but adjacent cells)
You can copy and paste multiple non-adjacent rows/columns if the cells are adjacent.
Step 1: Select all the adjacent cells from non-adjacent row/columns and copy them using CTRL+C.
